Well then the dealer screwed up with your VIN. Or is it eBay? Anyway this will NOT do. The whole thing is suspect . German box and Chinese iPod Amp you are victim of a switcheroo, snowmuch!
A futile exercise, make sure your Merc dealer gives you the correct iPod Integration Kit model for your VIN. Then use it wherever. SOME W204 just cannot accept the iPod Integration Kit, although Mercedes proudly claimed it was 100% compatible with any C-Class, CLK, GLK, E-Class etc. And many Forum readers reprimand your humble servant about my comments in the SLOWEST tech thread...

I got the kit and amp from online dealer, Mercedes Benz of South Atlanta and they refuse to return any electronic parts...WTF

I walked into my LOCAL dealer and showed them the parts and they told me with the new ipod kit the amp is not needed.
Anyways I just installed the kit without the amp and it works great! Thanks for everything Bill!

The OP is exclusively about the auto press' reviews of the lame and outdated tech, in an offering like S Class with 2005 maps, still frustrating COMAND and useless NEW MB apps. Just read the reviews. Not my opinion, just saying.

snowmuch: Great, How does it sound? Is the level exactly the same as a CD?
And for best quality the iPod volume should be "8" and the EQ set to "POP"

Oh yes, John.A.Hussey. No the 2010 headunit does not have audio streaming. But WHY would ANYONE want to do it? Like putting music through a wood chipper, or turning a beautiful woman into... hamburger? An original CD is 1300kbps, and Bluetooth audio streaming is 110kbps. Why listen to only 8% of the original art? Unless one really doesnt care abut the music or its quality?

The sound is way better than before but I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet. Where do you change the volume and eq btw?

Thank you for the info!
And I will be getting the iPod kit fitted.
Probably doing it myself.

The newest MY2014 standard uses a 768kbps total bandwidth, however this is distributed over a number of devices like a cell phone, internet connectivity through 4G fed from your cell, maybe music streaming will have an allotment of around 200kbps MAX, which is still insufficient for listenable music reproduction.
And forgive me the typo in your name, Josh!

And I have no idea how to tell wether or not I need the WHOLE iPod Interface Kit or just the cable to connect it

Too scared to haul my glovebox apart... Might try later tonight and face my fears.
