Are you sure you have 2 batteries? I've heard the diesels have the battery in the trunk near the spare tire but there is only 1. I still like the simple install- not a huge fan of plexi since the 90's. You will get better low end extension by facing the subs towards the back of the vehicle like my pic and the other I linked to.
Please don't think I'm trying to talk you out of using the shop you chose- just shop around and research what they are telling you. I'm not an EXPERT but I'm not a fool either. I did, however, pay way to much money having this shop install a simple self-amplified subwoofer because I was recovering from shoulder and knee surgery.

My 2013 C250 Coupe only has 1 battery in the front near the passenger firewall. There appears to be a battery tray by the spare tire. Some have installed amps and tapped into the SAM in the side of the trunk- That is what I was referring to. If you have the battery in the trunk- that's where they will run to and it is definitely a lot easier than running the length of the vehicle and through the firewall.

Yeah that is what I meant when I was trying to explain how they were going to install it. Sorry for not being clear. (also explains how they can do it so quickly) He said they can bang out Hondas/Toyotas in 30min so 2hrs for a Benz seems reasonable. I just hope this JL doesnt mess up the weight distribution of the car like my friend said it might.

If this is the loaded enclosure you are looking at it is almost 100 lbs (Holy Crap!). The sub alone is almost 40 lbs. The amp is probably 10-12 lbs. So including cables you're probably looking at 120-125 lbs.
I don't think that weight will throw-off the car especially since it is rear-wheel drive and you have the heavier V6. If it were in my car with the lighter 4 Cyl the added weight might make a slight difference but only under extreme driving. It might even increase handling performance by adding weight over the rear axel to increase traction.

Not quite that one. Its from their prowedge series. 61lbs and the amp I want doesnt say the exact weight but a similar slightly smaller one was 6lbs. So probably 75-100lbs all said and done.

Listen & trust your own ears. Some people want totally unrealistic levels of bass in a vehicle.
Too loud & making the whole vehicle resonate is a load of BS.

If ANYONE ever stated that W7 wasn't loud enough- they either didn't have it loaded into the vehicle properly or it was underpowered. OR...They were wanting a wall of subs capable of blowing out the front windshield and tried to settle for this (if you can call that settling).

Do either of you guys think that plastic stuff they put over the wires behind the door panel is necessary to stop rattling? I cant recall the name of the popular product. I would only want to do that if absolutely necessary.

I prefer the sound of sealed cabinets. Cleaner & tighter without the sub calling attention to itself. Ported cabinets always pump out more bass but require to be very well designed if flat response is to be achieved. Cars have crap acoustics.
I don't know what plastic stuff you are talking about unless you mean damping material like Dynamat.

UPDATE! UPDATE!
Just got the JL W710 installed along with a JL XD 1000/1v2 Mono amp and this thing is freaking amazing! I cant even use words to describe the purity a JL w7 gives.
There are a few issues though. The thing is freakin heavy! Definitely noticeable weight added that you can feel while driving. I think what I have here would be too much for a c250. The other thing is that to fit the enclosure the guy had to remove the 2 latches in the trunk that unlock your folding seats before the sub would sit in. They are just some clip-on latches that are not that hard to take off, but its not something you do on the side of the road when you need to take the box out and get to the spare.
So really the only cons I have with this is the weight, and the bulky size making it difficult to fit in the trunk w/o the removal of the clips. The only other con is that the MB stock amp in the trunk doesnt give a lot of power to the stock speakers (even with harmon kardon premium pkg), thus it doesnt hit the "highs" as well as some others. Also the trunk(aux) battery is NOT the same size (at least in my 2013 c204) as the engine battery, so you DO need to run a power cable the length of the car unfortunately because that battery is not powerful enough for the mighty JL W7.
I was also supposed to get a bass knob installed but JL forgot to send it along with the box and amp so they said they would install that next week sometime but they wanted me to have my sub now
any suggestions where to put it?
Overall: 9.0/10---Would have given it a 10/10 but it is pretty damn expensive.
10/10 quality for sure. One of the last quality subs still built in america.

Pleased you are happy. Only drawback is size but you knew you were in for that.
EDIT ~ carry a can of puncture fix.

Glad you like it but it definitely took up a lot of the trunk. For the remote- there should be a small area to the right of the steering wheel under the dash.
