SmartTV TVHBMZ1 install help

Has anybody successfully installed the TVHBMZ1 SmartTV dvd-in-motion unit in their C300? I'm not having any luck (2010 C300 Sport with MM and rear-camera).

I checked and re-checked every connection. Switched polarities on every connection. Still can't get a blinking green LED, only solid green.

I could also get the blinking red LED, which I used to locate the proper CAN bus connector per the instructions. No luck getting the blinking green LED, though. Even just trying to manually insert the module connectors into the original CAN plug; just can't get that blinking green.

Looking for troubleshooting suggestions to figure out what's wrong!

What wires are you tapping for Can High and Can Low?

Brown to brown going to the grounded bolt, and red to red with blue stripe. Here's a pic.

Ok, I feel a little stupid, but I think I realized what I'm doing wrong. I was trying to hook up the module to the first brown connector hub I found, which has black cables. I didn't look further up the conduit to see that there's another brown cable hub with red/brown cables. Funnily enough, the first hub I tried also has a connector that will stop the red LED from blinking and/or COMAND from starting, which is why I thought I was doing it right.

That said, how in the world do you remove the driver's side carpet in order to be able to open the second conduit and reach this second hub/distribution point? I tried lifting the carpet as much as I could, and the foam padding that's attached to the bottom of the carpet started ripping/breaking. I also could not remove the carpet from the front (beneath the pedals).

I'm not sure on your specific vehicle but I believe you are tapping the wrong CAN cables. Where is the harness you are tapping located? Maybe someone else can chime in with specific details. I do however believe you are connected to the wrong CAN cables.

I think I misunderstood your question and what I pointed out are the cables I'm tapping for power, per step 4 in these instructions:

http://www.mods4cars.com/sms/db/smar...stall_c/en.php

As for the actual tapping into the head unit, I think I had to locate the correct CAN distribution hub as I pointed out above. I had the wrong one. Now my problem is being able to lift/remove the driver side carpet to reach it!

Any hints on removing/lifting the driver's side carpet floor? It doesn't appear to be at all flexible in order for me to be able to lift it.

Success! It was real easy once I was able to lift the carpet up and find the proper CAN hub. Module worked like a charm too! Thanks for the help!
