Hey guys, i bought 2 new tweeters to my w204 with Audio20 ( no HK system ).
I payed 100 usd pair.

Is easy to install it? Just remove old tweeter and put the new in the same place?

Thanks!

Just make sure that you have a filter in place so that you're not sending full range to the tweeters.

When I replaced the tweeters in my 08 C300- I removed the back of the OEM tweeters which included the OEM connector and a high-pass filter. I soldered the new tweeter wires to the OEM connector and mounted the tweeters in the pods. I had them installed for almost 4 years and they held up well.

Is there a DIY for the front tweeters?

Aren't they in the front pillars?

Why not buy the h/k tweeters from the 810 sound system package instead, they are 100% bolt on and it takes 3minutes to swap them out.

Vic- Can you repost the part# for him?
I would recommend this to the OP. The only reason I did mine was because I already had the MB Quart tweeters from a previous installation. Your suggestion is much easier and will provide great results.

Yes.
Simply roll down the window and gently pull back on the edge of the speaker pod closest to the window. I think there are 2-3 small tabs towards the front of the A pillar that are very easy to pop loose. Don't pull too hard because the wires are somewhat short.

Forgive my ignorance, but I could buy the part number above and have someone install it? I'm assuming there' some light solder work to be done. Also is the above part number for both left and right or would I need 2? I have the Nav system but no HK currently and my right tweeter seems to be giving me a little bit of a rattle from time to time.

If you buy the part# from Vic- You shouldn't need to solder anything. It should be the complete tweeter assembly- just Plug-and-Play. That's why its a great upgrade.

The h/k speakers are pretty easy to install, but the full sound system isnt that easy as the amplifier requires a MOST optical signal from the HU and a lot of extra wiring.

The h/k tweeters are same left and right.
