C300 transmission problem?
I last had the car serviced at the end of July at the dealer before the warranty ran out and asked them to look at the transmission, but they claimed nothing was wrong with it. Could this just be it needs a software update?
Thanks in advance for your replies.
MB should be more than happy to take care of it...if not, use your powers of persuasion and persistence!
Good luck!
Just saw your second post. Get a video of it is possible. That is how I got my light switch module replaced when the dealer couldn't replicate.

I have the same issue with the transmission jerks. Yes, I had the transmission flush or fluid replaced at 39K miles as required by MB. I bought it to the dealer tohave it check out and ended up $1,300 out of my pocket. They replaced the "Conductor Plate" and "Valve Body" took them a week because of the parts come from Germany. Yes, this is on my 4matic.
I bought it back today after two months of hoping the jerks is fixed after out of $1300. The car still jerks, MORE then before, but only at 9-10mph. SO, I was told at today pick-up that they RESET the ECU or Transmission mapping. Let's hope this work?

So I done all the work and got charged extra for nothing?

Well- report in on the driving. There is no more jerks or rumble at any speed. But i notice the RPM jumps high from 1st to 2nd rear (at 9-10mph), where it used to jerk. It feel much faster then before in C-mode. When I switched to S-mode, it seem not as fast as in C-mode, it does hold the rear a bit longer. So good so far, let see how long this will last....
Have an Excellent weekend everyone !!
it seems it needs new transmission front pump assembly. Good thing I purchased the extended warranty.

Hi janedelgado.
It's a great car just minor issue. I have 84K on mine C300 4matic.
I had drove it after the 2nd returns to the dealer. They said go and drive it for awhile and see.
Well, I've been driving in "C" mode since I bought my car in 2008, rarely switch over to "S" mode.
Two weeks ago, I decided to switch over to "S" mode and drove it for two weeks; about 2 tanks of gas ~ 500 miles. and I switch it back to "C" and No-more "shifting-jerk" between 3-4miles. The problem is SOLVED !!
Not until this afternoon when I drove it again in "C" mode.
I parked the car outdoor overnight @ 10deg F. Noon temperature is @ 45deg F with 30 second "warm-up", and with a 50 feet Reversed and Drive straight, the car DID "shift-Jerk" a bit. It is better than before, you won't notice it if you don't look for it.
I believed that the in "S" mode the car start with 1st gear and on "C" mode it start on 2nd gear. So with my driving in "C" for the past 5 years. I think the dealership resetted and updated my car EU after my initiated repaird. The EU is trying to grab-hold of the 1st gear as you start but EU told it to let go in "C". That could cause the "shift-jerk" as it release from 1st n grab hold on the 2nd gear. Just my thinking

I'll report back after more "S" mode driving with a tank or two of gas and see.
I think you are fine with your. I should have NEVER bring it back to the stealership. I should have just alternate driving between "S" and "C". I felt like an A$$- let them hijacked over $1K from me. I don't know how your driving style is - but I use to drive run it over pot-holes thinking it's a Benz, it should be tough n all. WRONG
. My OEM wheel was bended and the dealer charged me $600 for ONE wheel n tire replacement.
I said no and drove the grab out of it and when to PowerWheels and got all 4 new wheels and tires, did the square set all for under $1k. Now, I'm driving it like a virgin - avoid all pot-holes, if I can.
. I have No other issue other then the transfer case leak, shift-jerk, and premature wear on rear tire due to staggered wheels setup. Like I said - my is ~84K 15K more to go till it hit 100. I don't forward see anything wrong with it. by the way - mine is a 2008 4matic got it when it was 114miles. Good luck with yours.
Thanks for the re-assurance. After 13 yrs and 168k miles with my Audi since new, the C300 has some big shoes to fill. The Audi A4 B5 platform was bulletproof. I really enjoy the ride and style of the c300 . It's such a great looking car...beats the Audi hands-down.

The service advisor mentioned nothing being out of the ordinary with my car at that service and at the time of that service, my car was not making any strange noises when I drove. Shortly after that service, it started making strange noises and I'm being told it has to do with the transmission.
Never have had any concerns with anything on mechanics of car before; AND I have done all services required on my car.
I'm concerned something wasn't done properly in the service; possibly something with fluids and now possibly there is a problem with my transmission after the fact?!?
I live in Orange County, California.
I'm not sure what I should be doing.
^^What if this was your problem the whole time? Its possible the dealer diagnosed it as a tranny issue to milk you for money.
I have an 08 4matic with 70,000 miles and the trannys alright knock on wood, but im wondering if it ever goes, will i be able to put a tranny from a 2012-13 c class? Reason being the trannys from the newer cars are updated and probably shift faster, more efficiently and just better overall. Im sure the mounting points are the same, the issue i could see though is software/electronic compatibility.
