Command wheel not working (partially)
So I was driving the other day and went to change the radio station using the wheel. I spun it and nothing happened. The car isn't recognizing that the wheel is being spun at all. It still works when I press it in any of the four directions or press it down to select something, but I get no reaction when I spin it. It was working when I got in the car and stopped working while I was still driving.
I've searched around and only seen one other person with this person, but they think they spilled something on it. I know I haven't. It has been very hot lately and with a black interior, it gets even hotter in my car. Could this heat have had an effect on it? Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you in advance.

Happened to me last month. I too have an '09 C300 4matic and was reading about how they seem to give out around the 4 year mark and then, bam, one day mine did nothing when I spun it. All the other functions worked, just not the rotational action. Fortunately, they replaced mine under the CPO warranty as the original warranty was expired by 1 month.

Did they say what was wrong with it? That's a bit disappointing if it's just a faulty part. I'm hoping there's either something small I can do to fix it, or that my aftermarket warranty will cover it.

It was simply faulty and failed. They replaced it completely. No way to "fix" that I am aware of. You can find the part on parts.com or ebay and self install but I know that there is quite a bit of labor involved to get to and get it out. They had my car for a day and a half.
