mb-tex dye transfer from leather belt

It appears that the dye from my leather belt has over the past few months slowly transferred to my almond beige mb tex seats.

I've tried Lexol, Simple Green solution, and soap/water and none of it makes any difference as far as removing the stain.

Are there any products that will actually reverse the dye transfer? I've read many of the threads on this topic of mb-tex, but have not found an answer that will help.

MB dealer told me to contact a detailer. Most detailers tell me that off the shelf retail products are not harsh enough to have any real effect. They claim they have access to industrial cleaners that "might" remove the stain.

I use Griot's Garage Interior Cleaner - http://www.griotsgarage.com/product/...ortby=ourPicks

I have Ash, and my driver's seat had a brown stripe on it from one of my belts. This got it off without issue - and it also works well for removing blue jean dye from the seats, too.

Whatever you do, do not use ANY magic eraser on the seats or you will remove the seat's color. Try using a soft brush to get it out using whatever solution you use but do not apply heavy pressure just mild. After I ended up removing the stains on my ash color seats I bought a $3 black fabric cover that I always put on before I sit on the car and never worried about it getting stained.

hi there,

did you have any success in removing a leather color dye off your seats?
