You could definitely try an x-pipe with oem c63 mufflers. It will sound good but not exactly like a c63 because they're a 6.2 liter v8 and you have a 3.0 v6.

X-pipe, cat back..

OEM C63 exhaust if you have the funds for it.

Just make sure it doesn't sound ricey. You will never be able to get it to sound exactly like a C63, but you can get it close.

How much it would proximately be? I know it could never be exact like? But if I do that would I be able to pass the inspection?

How much money wise? Depends I guess. A universal x pipe should run you maybe $50-100 and a used oem c63 mufflers anywhere from $500-$800+. Labor I'm not too sure, maybe around $150 for the both of them installed, prices may vary.

I think there was a forum member selling used c63 mufflers for $450 over at the w211 amg section but they didn't want to do shipping. They also pop up every now and then on forums or ebay.

And inspection do you mean in terms of smog check? If it's just the x pipe and muffler, you'll pass with flying colors.

It might be a bit pricey but at least it'll sound really nice and not ricey. I slapped on an x pipe and c63 mufflers onto my e550 and I have never looked back since, the exhaust note coming out of those stock c63 mufflers are just insane!

What I like about these amg mufflers are that they're nice and civilized during daily driving, has a nice growl to it, but step on it and it'll put a big grin on your face.

Hope this helps.

Nothing, I'm just saying there's nothing to worry about, you'll pass a smog check no problem.

Good luck with it.

I'm not too sure if I can explain this properly, maybe someone else can offer some better insight. The full exhaust system runs underneath your car from the front of your vechile all the way to the end of the vehicle. In consists of things like headers, catalytic converters, resonators, mufflers, and so forth. Doing an x pipe is just removing your resonators and welding on an x pipe and mufflers are just cutting off your stock mufflers and tips and welding on another one. Basically just replacing parts of the exhaust system instead of the whole system.

It'll fit as long as you get the Pre-LCI
