Just to make it clear, front coilovers for the 4matic are completly different than for RWD. I think a couple guys implied this, but I wanted to be clear about this. The way the lower strut mounts to the spindle is completely different.

yea kevink2 is right, the setup i spoke to HotBits about is strictly for 4matic. If there are other people that want to jump in that are RWD, HotBits would have to take measurements for that car separately. Still waiting on the numbers and specs, should have them later on today

I feel like these are going to be out of the budget zone. I've never heard of hotbits... Of prefer Megan racing but it seems no one leaves near by so they can get measurements.

I doubt we will get 5 people in on it for that price. Does it include the air management and all the lines? Hmm

I think I know what you are trying to say but it needs a management system of course. I was hoping to just get a simple setup without having the worries of air ride, but for 2kish I'd spend another 1.5k for a complete air setup.

Hey guys, HotBits emailed me last night and they said that price is going to be roughly 1600. I'll be getting a solid number from him within the next 48 hours. As for the drop he said they'll be able to manufacture a setup for an additional 2 inch drop from the KW v3s so we're looking at over a 3 inch drop.

I'm still game if you guys have other locations you want to get from. The one from airtekk sounds good as well. Is that price for the full setup or is their additional equipment needed like slowc said? Ksport has one for our cars but it's going for 2900.

http://ksportusa.com/products/air-su...airtech-basic/

Let me know if you guys are still in for HotBits and we can get things going. He said he needs to build one set first test on my car make sure everything is good to go before making 5 or more units.

and how exactly does a bag coilover setup work? I'm in canada so I gotta make sure i'll be able to drive in the winter time haha. I've had friends that park their cars on full air suspension setups, is this similar?

hey guys got a reply back from HotBits.

We will build monotube performance dampers that can be serviced in 3 US locations and 2 Canadian locations. This is for revalve, tuning, or the rare leak. We have 5 service centres capable of taking the dampers apart and tuning them. We specialize in performance and handling. Our biggest market is racing…..all kinds. Rally, Drag, Drift, Track, Targa, we have customers winning in all these areas.

I have the following pricing, this is for dampers with bodies shortened 50mm. That’s over 2 inches of body drop without loosing travel on the damper, only lowering it further would start to shorten your compression stroke.

DT1 single adjustable dampening monotube dampers. Front threaded body, rear would have separate threaded replacement spring seat all for ride height. DT1 effects bounce and rebound with a single adjustment. 40 positions. Regular price $1707cdn $1650us
DT1 kit with remote canister reservoir $1995cdn $1926us
DT2 double adjustable dampening kit. Same as DT1 but with separate control of bounce (30 positions) and rebound (40 positions), remote canisters required and included. $ 2284cdn $2203us

There are price differences between Canada and the US because of import duties and taxes. Included in the above pricing is $275 courier delivery direct from the TUV German certified factory in Malaysia.
If you can get together a group buy we will give 20% off prior to shipping for 5 orders or more. If you want everything quickly and direct, then the $275 shipping cost will still be the same. If you are not in a rush, shipping can be cut down to $100 per set if we do a sea freight shipment and then disburse via ground courier once landed. Sea takes 6 to 8 weeks shipping time. Courier is 3-4 days.
So with courier shipping, pricing for group buy would be.
DT1 kit $1420cdn $1375us
DT1 canister kit $1651cdn $1596us
DT2 canister kit $1882cdn $1817us

We can build pillow ball mounts front and rear if desired. Additional charges for these.

So please correct me if I am wrong, but essentially these will go just over half an inch lower then kw v3's currently do. I believe the drop spec on kw's installed on 4matics was either 1.4" or 1.6" max.

Do they continue to go lower then the 2 inches, just with less compression stroke as stated?

1420 shipped is a steal if you ask me..
Cheers on getting this info.

Tgidave, that's right they do go lower than 2 inches just with less compression. We can get the price down some more if we have 10 people, or if we agree for sea shipping which would taken 6-8 weeks. This cuts down the cost per set by $175 so 1420-175=$1245 Canadian

I would much rather pay an extra hundred and get them in a week as opposed to 2 months. I'm game for approx $1400 give or take depending on the group buy. Did some reading on this company. A lot of people seem to like them.

Sounds good, tgidave, where are you located? Can you also post in the other thread I opened, that's going to be the actual group buy thread so others can see as well.

hey guys,

so at the highest setting the ride hide will be about 1/2 - 3/4 inch lower than stock which guarantees you'll still have fender gap more than a finger. I'm going to be going ahead and getting the coils ordered for my self for the test fit. Are you guys still in for the group buy? Also I'll be selling my KW V3 coilovers. Whoever is interested PM me and we can work out a price.
