Light on right side of bottom of rear view mirror

Light on right side of bottom of rear view mirror
Hi experts,
I just purchased c250 for my wife on Friday night.
Last night, we were trying to program garage opener to the car - garage opener buttons under the rear view mirror.
As we were going through the process, we noticed light was on only on right bottom side of the mirror. We could not turn it off, and it stays on only on right side. Left side does not turn on unless I push the on button.
Can anyone help us on this issue?

Is it the ambient light that comes on when it's dark? I have a C300 and there is a light on the right side, underneath the mirror and that's what it is. Two pushbuttons on overhead console control left and right reading lights which are different lamps entirely.

Yep - ambient lighting, just like what is in the door pulls and door handles. It will only come on when it is dark out.
It's a singular LED, but it bleeds into the light on the right hand side and it looks like it is coming from both, but it is just the amber LED.
