audi a4 or C300
a year ago i looked at MB, BMW & Audi - I focused more on audi since i had VW before and liked them. I wound up getting the 2012 audi A4 premium plus. have not been 100% happy with the car. long drives are not comfortable. car feels bigger than I expected, rides very low. I am revisiting MB and looking at c300 -can anyone share some comparisons, pros or cons regarding both? would appreciate any input

2013 C300 Sedan
From just a comsumers point of view (not a car buff). I test dove the Volvo S60 T6 and the Audi A4 before the MB. I was coming form a toyota Avalon.
I thought the A4 and the S60 were similar in size, comfort and ride. I decided on a 2013 C300 for the better ride and room. The others were too much of a departure from the Avalon.
I thought the maintenanace, warranty and reputations were equal. Volvo was discontinuing the free maintenance plan (i was told) and the Audi was just too tight. This is still a family car (more than two passengers).

I thought the a4 felt smaller than the c class as well. I ended up with a c250. The volvo has the strangest arm rests. The one for your left arm (or elbow, barely...lol) is tiny. The center console's armrest is a tiny pad that is way too far back, making almost useless. plus, they are very uneven in height. The c class's armrests are much better.

2008 Mercedes Benz C300
audi's look and handle great but i feel they are overpriced.
for that much you can get the C class and enjoy alot more luxury.
sitting in an A4 feels like you are sitting in a Jetta or a Passat.
alot more bang for your bucks with C class

C300 vs A4
I had a 2011 A4 Premium Plus/Sport Package and just sold it and purchased a C300 Sport MB. My C300 is far superior in every aspect. Audi's CVT tranny is terrible, plus the A4 is a gas guzzler. Very happy with my Benz, even thou mine is 2009. Latter on I am planning to trade my C300 for a new 2015 C Class.

Good thoughts here. I do think the A4 seemed more 'modern' when it came out but is not aging as well as the MB. Even with the C-Class photo leaks today (2015 model), I think the W204 will age very well. It classic styling will ensure it looks great in any parking lot for years to come.
The A4 headlight LEDs already look very "2009" compared to the MB styling and execution.

If you're looking at the MY 2013 or 2014 you get 3.5L v6 with c300 which is far more superior than the loud I4 turbo VW offers on many other lower end cars.

We have both and while they are both nice cars, the C Class is just a better all around vehicle. The A4 has a bit more room but that's about it's only trump card.

Honestly, the Audi is a VERY GOOD car. Seriously. Only has two problems:
1. It's HUGE. Since when is an A4 so big?
2. It's priced at or above Mercedes. No matter what they think, they are not quite Mercedes. They might out-Mercedes Mercedes one day, but not with the current gen A4.
All that goes out the window if you need/want AWD. 4MATIC can't seem to touch Quattro in terms of durability.

2010 MB C300 Sport, 2010 Audi A4
I currently own a 2010 A4 Premium and 2010 C300. I upgraded from a 2002 GTI. I bought the A4 first mainly due to the turbo (coming from a 1.8T). While I enjoyed the A4 for a while (wife's car), i hardly ever drive it now. The feel of the quattro is entirely too mechanical for my taste. To me, you feel every gear, though the lower center of gravity makes you feel more connected to the road.
That being said, the soft ride of the C300 is by far superior. I was concerned about the 4Matic over the Quarttro, but after testing both last winter, they each serve their purpose well in the Northeast winters. You'll miss the low end torque of the A4, but the quality of the ride on long trips more than makes up for it.

I just traded in my old trusty A4 for a C300 and here are my findings.
1- Seats in the C300 are far more confy than the A4.
2- C300 has better rear seat space
3- I had the 1.8T and I felt that the car was way underpowered for a car that is about 1.5 ton
4- Felt super heavy
5- The interior considering that was about 9 years old, was very modern
6- The thump noise when closing the trunk was far more solid in the A4 than the C300
7- Leather quality is better in the Audi.
8- In the snow was really. (haven't had the chance to try the 4Matic yet)
Just decided to let it go because was aging
