Have a white car and use tar remover. It does the job but what a lot of work. Anything easier to use that won't damage the paint?

I have used something like Meguiar's Tar Remover before, and then waxed back over it as it will remove any protection. It works "ok." as you state.

If you can get to it, say same day it happens, it is much easier to remove.

I have also used some clay and detailer on tough spots, but tar will dirty the clay quickly so be sure to fold the clay constantly and don't drop it.

A rag sprayed with some WD-40 or if not available... diesel fuel. Make sure you hose either of then off quickly and then apply a light coat of wax.

Either on works like a charm!
