Dont know if they are already out here somewhere. But here you go.

What do you think? I will miss the rear end :-( Seems like it lost its sportyness?

Loverly modern European lines. These are the best pics yet. Looks best in mini S Class trim with the traditional grill & hoodstar. This will fly off dealer's floors around the world. Refreshing move away from the tin box & back to organic lines.

Look great, both inside and out. Being US-based, I'm disappointed to read there's only two launch models for my territory and both are AWD. No rear-wheel drive models at launch for the US. Europe and the UK seem to launch with both rear and AWD options. Maybe the restricted launch model range for the USA has to do with the production of US C-Class car switching over to the Alabama plant; Mercedes wants to ease the transition. I really hope the rear-wheel options will come shortly after launch and not the next model year. I'd trade my vehicle for the new RWD c-class in a heartbeat.

edited to add: Autoweek's writeup of the new C-Class says RWD models for the USA won't go on sale till March 2015:

As the names suggest, both launch models will initially come with 4Matic all-wheel drive standard. Rear-wheel drive is planned to be offered in March 2015.

The SA East London plant is already gearing up for production. Our first models will be RWD with the smaller engines also available.

WHY, is Mercedes Always so d_mn high stanced?

Loook at the closest competition, the 3 series and the A4, both look a lot more agressive and streamlined as they sit a lot closer to the ground.

My opinion is irrelevant for other reasons previously discussed, but for what it's worth.....I like the front and the bodyside.....nicely defined. I cannot tell if the photos are deceiving my eyes, but it seems more cab-rearward, which I guess the market can again grow comfortable with again, as it's a cyclic proportion from the past. The part I particularly do not like is the droopy, melted rear end. Did they leave the clay model too near the heat overnight?

I think Glyn is right that this version may be best equipped in Luxury model dress. It is elegant, refined, sedate. Not at all to my tastes but, as he said, it will easily sell on the back of being a mini-S Class. But, I wonder where the CLA folks will go when they outgrow that size but like a more athletic theme? Old conservatives come from young conservatives, so I wouldn't expect the CLA owners to suddenly decide their energetic/expressive days are over when they need a larger car.

wow, i think merc did an awesome job with this facelift. I can say this is the first car ever from any manufacturer where I like the 'classic' version just as much as the sports model. Both look equally good and not like the usual feel of the sport model always the better looking.

It hit autoblog today as well.

I wanted to hate the W205. As long as we stick to exterior, I don't. It's not going to convince me to not go W212 for my next car - but it's not bad.

Car looks great. I only wish I could've held out before I bought the 13 a few weeks ago.

2008 W204
Interior is sweet, the sport model dead on from the front is sexy and the modernization of the rear rights are something that will make w204 owners want to upgrade, but I think everything else styling wise looks way too much like the new S Class which is kind of a disappointment to me. The W204, W212 and W221 shared no headlight shapes or styling lines, but you could tell they were from the same generation. That was something that separated Benz from BMW and even Audi. Now they're all the same.

Same here, I was eventually going to upgrade to the E class in few year, but with new w205 being 5 inches longer , bigger with more back seat leg room, it may make sense (for me) to upgrade to the new w205.

Assume you meant "lights", and completely disagree....weakest part of the exterior....too "soft" and do not fit with nicely crisp character lines on bodyside and well-defined front.

It's a new car, not a facelift.

For me, the decision to go w/ the W212 vs. W205 will come down to front-seat comfort and ride (which is hard to determine on a test drive). The dimensions of the W205 are much convenient for me than the W212 (I often drive/park in tight spots), but it should be big enough for 2 tallish people up front.... And of course the W205 should be considerably cheaper.

Also a little worried about the 9-speed auto.... I'll probably end up getting the last yr of the 7-speed and will wait for them to work out the bugs of the 9-speed on someone else!

In my humble opinion the tail lights are 10 years out of date & similar to large BMW's....very rounded & not sharp enough.

They have made a real mess of the grill on the Classic ,far too deep ...looks very like a Chrysler . The Sport is the pick of the front ends.

Cookstar ,Thanks for the post.

I can't deal with that dashboard, and I won't touch a Mercedes coming out of the Alabama plant unless it's had 5 or 6 smooth years under its belt.

For me, the choice for moving to the W212 is coming down to a larger back seat, the diesel engine and a better ride.

Per usual, I seem to differ from the status quo

I like the back end and taillights a lot. This is also the first C since the W202 that I actually like the luxury version better than the sport version.

I think the downsized "S" appearance fits the W205 well.
