prefacelift NTG4.5

i've always been told the NTG4.5 doesn't work in the prefacelift W204 (no idea why)
last week however i've seen A prefacelift W212 (so also the NTG4 normally) with a NTG4.5 retrofit and it works.
anyone with more insight in this? could it work on the W204?

No, it will not work because of the different screen size, resolution and connector. Unfortunately it is extremely difficult to convert the smaller size ntg4 lower resolution with different connector flip up screen to the bigger high res ntg4.5 different connector to fit the flip up mechanism.

better change the whole dash instead

Question there is no one who has more information?

hello, I'm new here and I'm from Germany. I have a w204 prefacelift. I want to change the old comand NTG4 to the new NTG4.5!
the new screen for the NTG4.5 I already have.
The NTG4.5 monitor can be converted into the NTG4 flip up frame. a lot of work but it works! Unfortunately I need help with the assignment of connections!
what do I need to change the plugs at the tag for NTG4.5?

sorry for my bad englisch - the translation comes from google!

Its Look Nice, but this is the ntg4 from the e-class. This is Not the ntg4.5 with the sd-Card Slot!
