Personally , I like the clean look with no mud flap. However in certain case like this, if you decide to go the mud flap route, then paint it (professionally) to the same color as your car so it blends in. Don't leave it unpainted because I think it looks tacky.

You can't paint rubber. They are functional & designed to take a clout from real stones.

Rubber can be painted, there are flexible additives that can be added to OEM paint (trade secret), consult your local body shop pro.

Pocket protectors are functional also , but you won't see many people sporting one.

Modern paints last for 5 seconds on rubber even with plasticiser added.

We are all different. I only like genuine Benz accessories on my cars. In SA any modification ruins the value of a car & in SA Benz cars keep their value extremely well unlike the US.

The genuine Benz moulded flaps are strong. They serve their purpose. They are discreet & blend into the tyres from most angles. Benz sells thousands of the things.

To each his own. Having lived in Australia & the US. With Aus conditions I would fit flaps especially with protruding wheels.

I just use the moulded genuine Benz ones.

Glyn, I don't mean to sound weird, but the pics of your local look SO beautiful. Could you possibly please share some more beautiful pics of where you live in ZA. I work in Washington, DC, in international trade, and would love to see more.

Llandudno is a small enclave surrounded by Nature Reserve.

Read my post above regarding mud flap. Here let me quote it again.

Ok, but did seem to conflict with your other quote with the vomit icon so please pardon my confusion.

Right , I needed to further clarify my position on mud flap from my original post as not to cause confusion because flynn responded to it.

Hey Glynn are they the OEM ones. I'm looking for a moulded set for the wagon but haven't seen any I like til now. Can they be painted? And you're right they are extremely practical in our climate and conditions especially if you have more rubber on than normal. Nice car BTW.

Sorry Glynn didn't read all the previous posts. Questions answered.

The OEM units are held on with substantial clamps & 1 screw each into the fender shroud. They are moulded hard rubber. They are available to fit all genuine skirt types. They fit perfectly. They are robust. They are fairly expensive but worth it.

Glynn, do you think Pasti dip would stay on?

Yes ~ probably. You might have to touch it up every few years but better than doing that to the car's paint. They have a very fine texture to their rubber surface.

+1 thanks. May give it a try. BTW your pics of LLandudno look absolutely beautiful. A far cry from the original.

Yes, Sydney has some great beaches but the Sunny Coast has the weather.
