No MORE CLUNKING TRANSMISSION
We solved the problem after 4 visits to the dealer and continued frustration. We traded the car and bought a 2011 E350 with 16,000 Km. It seems great and no shifting issues. I know this is extreme but the fight was wearing us down.

My dealer has a valve on order and expects to have it to install in about a week. Based on what I've read here, I fully expect the repair to be an abject failure. I am not an R and D pilot project for Mercedes Benz so if this repair does not work I will not be entertaining further attempts at this but will pursue other actions.
As Yoda said, do or do not; there is no try.

Same problem on my 2014 C350 Coupe
Will try the reset and if that doesn't help I guess off to the dealer I go.

Its almost a certainty that the reset will not work. Reprogramming attempts by dealers have also been entirely unsuccessful. Even installing new electronics for the transmissions only works for a few days before the car reverts to harsh shifting once more. I believe that Mercedes Benz does not know how to fix this at this time.

2016 E350 sport
My 2014 C300 Sport has been exhibiting the same problems you folks have. It is only some six weeks old and has already had the Valve Body and finally, the Transmission replaced. The problem still exists, worse if anything. The vehicle is back at the Dealership again and we await MB Engineering's decision on what to do next.
To be fair, the actions taken thus far by the Dealership and MB have been commendable but we have now hit a brick wall.
I have heard that the revised TCU software is planned for a May release. Whether this is the panacea we are hoping for remains to be seen or felt.

I have successfully escalated my case to MBUSA. I will be speaking with a case manager in the next 24 hours (probably Monday). I'll keep you informed. For the record, I now have ~2300 miles on my car.

Our car has been in the shop for over two weeks now while we drive a roughly treated six year old used car they gave us for a loaner. I am beyond totally fed up with this.

That's why I'm wondering how the 9 speed auto will be. MB still hasn't perfected the 7 speed unit even though it's been out for around a decade and now they want to throw an extra 2 gears on. The old 722.6 5 speed unit was good but still had issues with the conductor plate, valve body and some TC issues. My 8 year old unit shifts smooth 99% of the time but I feel MB makes weak trannies. The ZF units in BMWs are not only seamless shifting but they seem to give far less issues than any MB transmission.

Same thing with my car..brand new C300 and it has the same issue. I brought it in last week and they called me the next day to go pick it up. They said to drive it as it is because they can't fix it and I can't do anything about it???? IS IT A JOKE!!! RIDICULOUS!!! The car is still there as I refused to take it home. They said MB is aware of the transmission issues but they have no software update and they can't fix it and they have no ETA for me. I will not stop here. I will file a complaint with MB and call MB Financials to tell them that I can't make payments on a car that it's 'drivable yet broken'..let me know when your cars get fixed.
I REGRET MY PURCHASE.

At this point, my car has been in the shop for three weeks practically.
Would anyone care to speculate on the likelihood that I'll ever buy another Mercedes Benz product?

I think there are a number of us in this thread who have likely bought our last! FWIW, I'm rapidly loosing confidence in Mercedes' ability (or willingness) to fix this problem.

Mercedes just sent me an email to say "the Engineering Dept at MB Canada is confident that replacing the valve body on your car has solved the vehicles mechanical issue".
I guess we will see.

I experianced this issue on my 2014 loaner, my 2009 c300 also has a jerky transmission upon startup, the 40,000 mile transmission service didn't help and I'm out of warranty.

Unfortunately I am in the same boat. We got our car back last night when the sales guy dropped it off, which was good of him. I was keen to see if the repair worked so I immediately took it for a quick spin but sadly, the problem was still there. So we brought the car right back and got the loaner once more.
At this point I believe that Mercedes is incapable of fixing this issue.

Is the adaptation a software only issue? If so, can 2013 software be installed on these cars to provide a fix?

Guys, I took my car to the dealer ( different dealer - infact no 3) for tire change and at the same time mentioned about the jerking. He said they will check it out and next day when I went to pick it up, the service manager said they had adjusted the level of transmission fluid as it was low ( no idea how) and also re-adapted the transmission. He assured that it should not jerk anymore. It drove smoothly and Next day I drove almost 200kms without any issues.
The same evening when I was on a level ( my primary jerking observation was during upclimb) street and hit the brakes it jerked again .
Will observe a few more days and then call MB canada again.

We had the same thing done here at my Canadian dealership last month and it was also unsuccessful. Your car will soon start to get worse and the dealer will then offer to reprogram the transmission and the transfer case. They did that for us and it reverted to hard shifting within two weeks. The next thing they will try is to install a new valve body with electronics. They did that for me, and also for Rossono308 in Chicago, and it has failed miserably for both of us.
So clearly the problem is not unique to something in Canadian or American cars - its common to 2014 C Class 4matic cars sold in both countries as seen by Mercedes Canada's and Mercedes USA's identical yet equally futile attempts to fix this.
