I myself own a Mercedes c250 4 matic year 2010 . I have been wondering why my LEDs on my new headlights don't brighten up. The led strip keeps flicking when I turn my car on and then it stays dim. My mechanic doesn't know the answer to his, he told me to take it to the nearest Mercedes dealer and get them to program it for you because I don't have daytime running lights. I know 2010 models don't have drls but they come with the non led headlights. Keep in mind my car is Canadian based model.

Your dealer won't be able to program anything on the car for you as you're using aftermarket headlights, you need to contact spyder about your headlight issue.

 

The thing is I bought these aftermarket headlights off an American based company. And what I came across was that the American c class models have drls already programmed in them so therefore it's just plug and play. I saw a YouTube video and all that the guy did was remove the parts plug the headlights and simply that's it. Idk what's wrong I did everything he did and my drl LEDs don't bright up still!

 

All w204's have DRL's programmed in as far as I know, but it's for the bumper LED's. Aside from the facelift version with the Xenon package, no W204 has headlight DRL's. Also, as yours is a 2010, it might be possible that there is no program for LED DRL's. I think those were introduced late in 2010 or early 2011 models.

 

You are right. My mechanic said the same thing that the 2010 doesn't have the program for led drls (for headlights) so he told me to go to a Mercedes to program it. But it might cost me a close $1000. I find that little too expensive just for the led drls. Maybe there might be a different way or anything I can do to make it work for cheaper?

 

You can try to buy a universal DRL module and wire it to the LED's in your headlights.

You do not have to go to Mercedes for them to program it. You can go to any local indy shop that has the Star Diagnostic Developer. (This is what Mercedes dealerships use to program lights and such.) This would be a cheaper and better alternative.
