So I purchased a usb drive and transferred all my songs onto it.
Not a huge collection but approx 12GB of songs.

When i connected it the first time, it did go through an initial loading phase and now shows me the whole list.

I hv observed that the artwork doesn't load for all the songs. I mean, if i play the same song thru the iPod interface, the artwork shows up fine. If I play it from USB it doesn't.

This is not for all the songs. It shows up for some albums and not for others.
I am wondering
whether its just taking time to load all the songs and will eventually show the artwork

or

there is something wrong with my id3 tags and hence it doesn't show up.

Considering the artwork loads fine on my iTunes (in win and mac), on my iPhone and my apple tv, I am inclined to think its the former...but not too sure.

the screens I am talking about are:
browsing albums list or album detail (which shows a thumbnail of the artwork)
browsing albums via coverflow
playing individual songs
