C300
Hello guys. I have a small problem. My c300 has the front right side clunking noise when it hits a pothole or rough pavement. I have been reading that is related to the strut in the right side giving up. I understand that some of the W204 came with electronic suspension and some not. My car is the sports version with the C-S button. This leads me to think that (hope I am wrong) my car may have electronic suspension because when I switch to sports mode in addition to force 1st gear in ace for quicker take offs, the suspension feels a bit tighter. How do I know for sure what do I have? Do I have to call the dealer with my vin to find out? Opinions and suggestions are appreciated. BenzManNy Manny

C-S controls the transmission, not the suspension. You have a bad strut and/or top strut bearing.

Another round of ICE
Think of this as an opportunity. If you like things on the sporty side, a great time to install Bilstein B6 at all four corners. It was one of the mods I've made to the suspension...another very nice handling improvement and the car feels quite solid compared to the deteriorating original struts my C300 had! No change in ride height. But definitely not for those who want soft and floaty!
