Please Help rim size for my 2011 c300

Hi,

I'm new to this forum and I have looked around to answer my question but have not been successful. I hope someone could guide me to the right direction:

At the moment my car has a staggered wheels 17", I would like to change it into a square setup.

I was looking into getting the Lexani R6 rims 18x8 and my car is not lowered but has a stock sport suspension and the following are my question;

1. I do not know what offset to get, the rim only has an option of high, mid and low offset. I do not want the tire to rub on any fender.

2. My c300 is certified and by changing the rims would it void my warranty?

Please help and guide me what tires to get with the Lexani rims and should I get the mid or low offset so it does not rub on any fender?

Thank you in advance.

Changing the rims will not effect the warranty as long as the rims are the correct size and / or the problem is not caused by the rims. There is a Federal law that requires warranties to maintain in effect under you while doing the maintenance, any modifications etc as long as the modification did not directly cause the failure and you have receipts to prove that proper care , maintenance was performed.

Your stock 17" rims are 47 and 58 offset (if I remember) and with the C class you need more offset than many cars to keep them inside the fenders. I believe that most people are having good results with about 45 off set all around when they do a square set up.

Thank you Xaran.

I just wanted to double check with you guys that the warranty will not be voided if I change the rims to 18x8. I already asked the dealership if I change the rims to 18" will it void my warranty and they said no.

As far as the offset if I do get the offset of 45 what tire size should I get?

Xaran what is your set up?

I went 18" staggered setup same as the optional AMG wheels and tires. Front are 18x8.5 47 offset and tire 225/40/18 and rear are 18x9.5 54 offset and tire 255/35/18

There are a lot of threads on here with 18" squared setup try the search or Im sure there are others here that can give you accurate info. There is a sponsor here PowerPro I think that sells a lot of tire/wheel setups try calling them too.

Nice.

You do not have any rubbing issues on the fender? What about when you hit bumps or turn it does not hit the fenders? Did you lower your car?

No rubbing at all tires and wheels fit well into my fender wells. The sizes I have are the same as the optional wheels offered by MBZ

My care is stock not lowered. I have pictures in my album

If you are going with 18 x 8 ET45 on all four corners I would go with 235/40/18. IMO anything less and your rims are exposed to gutter rash.

Thanks Sentosa. What do you mean by less and the rims ate exposed to gutter rash? Sorry I'm such a newbie, first time to have a c300 Mercedes.

Do you have any other recommendations?

He means if you go smaller tires your rims will be more exposed at the lip where the tire and rim come together and its easier to scrape the rim because the tire does not cover (over lap) the rim as much

It is entirely up to you so long as you stay within the recommended dimensions for wheel and tyre combo. You may want to checkout the tyre/wheel calculator on the 1010tire website.

I have a staggered setup of 18 x 8, et45 and 18 x 9 et48 with 235 up front and 265 on the rear. Your most important factor is the offset to avoid the rubbing issue and there are several discussions on the forum on this subject. Your can find this info by putting the keywords in the "search" button at the top of the page.
