passenger side parking lights turn on randomly
Hello all,
This week I noticed my passenger side parking lights were turning on after the car was turned off and the alarm set. My light switch is in the O position and I never move it. I turned the light switch to the P position and back to the O position a couple times and it goes away. I've been looking online for any other occurrences but no luck. Has anyone every had this happen and if so what the culprit might be?
Thanks.

Same thing happening
Hey did you end up figuring out what was going on? Same thing is happening to me. Shut my car off last night and locked it. Made sure lights were not on and came out this morning to passenger side running lights on. Just spend $200 on a new battery cause that kept happening and killed my other battery. Thanks

If the head light switch was in the off position when you experienced the problem leave it in the Auto position and this will fix it (other than install new switch).
I experience the same over a year ago and has permanently left the switch in the auto position and had no problem since and no need to replace the light switch.

Intermitent parking lights and xenon lights
Besides the random parking lights , i do also have intermitent xenon lights when driving the car and the switch is set to Automatic, anybody cleaned the switch or it is electronics related??

Switch related in both cases...fairly inexpensive OEM part with Web providing DIY videos for removal/reinstall for particular switch models. More internal switch plastic detent wear than contamination related failures I believe. Here is link for my type switch...

Mine does the same thing. I just keep in in auto. I looked for a cheap replacement but not finding them very cheap. $319 New from China, used is around $78 for my specific one. Not gong to spend that for a used switch that could have the same issue.

I wonder if this issue is with only specific switches. My switch has the parking lights on the left side, has auto, and has pull on to activate front and rear fog lights.
I looked up the parts diagram for my specific car, the 204.081. There are 10 pages I omitted that are just for the steering column switch module part# 10. 10 pages of all the different part #s. If your switch looks different these wont be the correct part #s.
