Rear Sunshade Will Not Deploy

The gently tug and press the button routine worked for me.
I did hear a very faint click when I pressed the button and another
about 10 seconds later so I was sure the switch worked and power was present.
my CL65 is now 100% functional.

Just wanted to chime my 2 cents....
I have a C238 E400 Coupe, and my sunshade was not working. I pressed the button and if everything else was silent you could hear a very faint click. After checking all the fuses, changing the battery, and more, I finally tried the trick listed above. I had to pull moderately hard, and after about 4-6 tries, BAM! Works like new - very quiet, fast, smooth operation. Amazing! Love this trick. Still works.

2-Person Button Push while Pulling Shade Worked!!
Old thread but relevant for me in 2025.
2011 C300 4Matic. Purchased in 2013. Car sets a LOT. Shade hasn't worked for 2 years. Fuse was good. Heard a click in the rear when pushing the button. Concluded it was either stuck or the motor/shaft was non-functioning. Borrowed someone to push the button while I pulled up on the shade frame. Was gentle at first. Pulled a bit harder the next time and heard the motor engage/felt very light movement. Another button push and a harder pull and the shade came right up. Tried raising/lowering 5 times and it works like a charm. Left it in the up position for the time being. Will test again later this week. Appreciate the knowledge/experience shared!

Congrats! I tend to leave mine in the up position to keep the car cooler during the day and futher block bright headlights in my mirror at night.
