Oil filter question/ help
Oil filter question/ help
So I had gathered my tools and parts for my first attempt on an oil change for my 2010 W204 C250 4matic. This included the Mann HU718 filter which many recommended.
When I took the cap off to do the oil filter change I found that there was a MaHle OX 345/7 filter in place within a slightly different housing to that I've seen in pictures. The Mann filter was also too small to fit through the central spine of the filter housing. Thus I put the old Makle filter back in.
I'll probably order a new one.
Is this a norm for my car or may someone have changed the filter cap from the original?

Sorry, Caught out by Benz nomenclature & MY I think. Is yours the little 2.5 litre V6 & not the inline 4 cylinder M271 Evo Turbo engine? Both called C250's. The small engine never came to SA ~ only 3 litre & 3.5 litre.
If it's the 2.5 litre M272 V6 I have no idea why your filter is different.

That's strange. According to the online sources I've looked at, Mahle OX 345/7D cross references to Mann HU 718/5x. Another words, they should be direct replacements.
