C-Class side view style

I noticed that the door handles are not at the same height if the window base line is the reference; front door handles are lower than the rear by about 1/2", and handle line is not in parallel with window base line but going downwards towards the front.

And body crease line does not line up with handles. BMW and some other makes do.

The above two are not my taste. Everything else style wise is pretty good.

Huh? The door handles are spaced equally above the swage line.

While I'm not sure what the point of this discussion is, I do have a photo elucidating what C300CA is talking about. There is quite a bit of drop between the front and rear door handle locations, but it 'works' both ergonomically and stylistically as the participation rate in the W204 forum is quite strong :-).

The raked and swept language is one of the primary reasons I got it. Very elegant yet sporty, with some very cool angles and lines.

I like to see swage line spaced equally with window base line front to back, which might be less sporty to most people?

Normally I don't care much about style like that, but recently the more I stare at it the more I feel it is out of balance.

While writing, I saw adanmtxt1's picture came in, nice. I looked at my C one more time, ok. However, I prefer my neighbor's BMW 3-series side style, only its style, not the car at all. Am I too conservative? I like things "traditionally" elegant, not too fancy not too busy looking.

I understand. Over the years the different manufacturers employ new design language which evolves differently depending on who oversees design; if we have a personal affinity for a given manufacturer, but the direction of the company doesn't meet our expectations, it can be very disappointing.

The good news is most cars in this segment offer very fine craftsmanship, materials, and performance, but with different character. Unfortunately if you do like a particular manufacturer but not the current suite of models, you're kind of relegating yourself to previous generation cars which with the Germans can be expensive from a maintenance perspective. As I and others I know have come to accept, it's a balance between daily-driving an ideal car in your mind's eye and what can become a project car / continual work-in-progress which doesn't have the reliability of current-gen cars.

I always liked that it looks that way. It looks as though the whole car is "looking in your face, kind of agressively", like f-you, I'm bada$$. I feel it's pretty subtle, and gives the car the very character it has.

The current c63 amg's profile looks even more 'tilted forward/nose heavy' somehow to my eye even though it's basically the same shape. Mercedes puts just enough stuff on it to look awesome (amg) and not huge spoiler silly.
