Audio 20 - phone voice control???

Trying to set up my 2013 C300... I have my wife's iPhone 5 synced on bluetooth and her contacts downloaded. Is there no way to dial a contact with voice commands?

Only way would to be to hold your iphone home button to use Siri over the bluetooth handsfree.

Or a drive kit plus.

OK thanks. Is this an option that is available with Comand? Its crazy that my Jeep Wrangler has integrated voice commands for my iphone but not the Mercedes. I know I could always go with DKP, but that's some change $$$.

Yeah you need COMAND to get the linguatronic voice controls. Lets you control the navi, stereo and phone. I rather use the instrument cluster address book, or the wheelie mouse than the linguatronic though.

What do you find better about using the wheel over linguatronic? Wouldn't voice command be more safe?

I guess I could also just use siri from my phone.

I guess I just never got used to the linguatronic system. I find it cumbersome and haven't remembered all the commands, especially for nav. I haven't even touched that button for months and don't even notice it's there anymore.

There's a way to voice dial directly from the phone - without transferring contacts to COMAND. And without Siri.
I'm using an iPhone 6+ with iOS 8.2.

Start MB Apps and launch the self reading news (or perhaps it will work with another App).
Once that's done, you can press the voice command button on the steering wheel and dial by name. Any name in your phone's contacts will work!
My car's contact list is empty.
