Thanks everyone for the input. Will think on model trim for a bit. As far as options go, yes or no to the following?

Sports Package
Multimedia Package
Lighting Package

LOL...It's your buy...go as far as your wallet would comfortably allow. I said yes to all and more.

^Very impressive mpg numbers on that C350, edgalang. As I only have a bit over 3000 miles on my car my hope is that the numbers I see will improve. The 31 I did see came at an average speed of 70 mph, so any improvement may also be a function of my right foot.

Does the cloth like insert seats from the sports package wear well?

I have the lighting package and multimedia package on mine and love them both. The lights follow around a turn and really light up a area.

The Nav with traffic is wonderful in the Baltimore area

Except that they are... the 300's throttle response is much lazier than the 250s, and it levels the playing field unless one is being ham-footed with the accelerator.
The 7G+ transmission in 2012+ Cs has none of the notorious problems of the previous 7G transmission.
You might want to check some recent posts there regarding some shift quality issues with FL C300s before you make that statement. Also, the cars that seem to be having issues have a year or two on the facelift cars - so give it time. The 7g+ and 7g are not that different in the areas that are failing (transfer case).

Doing 0-60 in 5.6 in nearly any weather is a lot more fun than the few times you slide around a corner in a RWD, IMO.
Admittedly, that's a wonderful thing... up until the time it comes to stop.

Lots of misinformation in here.
That's for sure. Given that the OP lives in Florida, AWD is most definitely not needed. Given that it is a very complex and expensive to replace system with a known propensity to fail that also pulls down driveline efficiency and dulls steering feel, suggesting that it would be a good idea is doing the OP a disservice.

2014 C300 4matic
I've got a 2014 C300 4matic with a clunky transmission - it shifts very roughly at low speeds. After going back and forth with the dealeer since November with no successful repair, Mercedes Canada only yesterday admitted to us that other owners are having this problem. And the car is still not fixed.

My advice - Buy a BMW 3-series.

OP, if you are concerned about resale, go with the Multimedia package. Most people want NAV and back up cameras these days, especially in the luxury brands.

Lighting Package is nice to have, but C lighting is nice either way with the LED DRLs and LED tails. Some people hate the base halogens though. Some people convert them to HIDs for the added bling effect.

Whatever you choose, if it's a new W204, you'll be happy. Just disable the start/stop function if you get a C300/C350. It's like driving a less refined Prius every time it starts up.

As pissed as I am with the crappy gearbox in my C300, the stop start feature doesn't bother me one bit.

Smoothed out C250

I will not buy any 4 cylinder car of any make, not just MB C250.
Bought my 2013 C250Coupe with 9700 mi on it (CPO). It was a little rough on driving and start up. Put 2 treatments of TECHRON in during the 1st 1,000 mi. Really made a difference. Very smooth now--including start up. Always use TECHRON every 5,000 mi on my cars.

Works for me.

Maserati Quattroporte
In hindsight

As much as I love Mercedes Benz, and my next car will be another Merc, my 2016 Maserati Quattroporte has been an absolute pleasure to drive and own for the last 4 years. I bought it used with 23k miles, in late 2020. I figured that I would have sold it before now, but I still have no desire to. It’s not only the most beautiful 4 door vehicle ever manufactured and sold, it’s also one of the best sounding, with the twin turbo engine built by Ferrari. And it has an incredible amount of space for 5 passengers, and very large trunk/boot space. It is a long car, longer than my Ex-wife’s Merc 350 GLE SUV my girlfriends Cadillac SRT SUV. But it’s very fast, has very good suspension and handling, and it is very comfortable. It also has been very reliable, with decent gas/petrol mpg. The only cons are the cost of insurance, and the cost of basic routine maintenance. Whenever the time comes for the next car, it will be a Merc AMG of some sort.
