Dent protection

I have a office parking spot that is tight to make things worse I have a parking neighbor who doesn't know how to park and from the looks of her car she doesn't care if she gets scratched as her van has gazillion of body damage on it. Two days ago I detailed my car as spring is here and I found 4 dings on the left passenger door that lined-up (cost me $380 to fix) and measured her driver's door molding this morning and it lines up perfectly. So rather than confronting her about it I told myself to be civil and just place a huge coroplast with green string to catch her attention that I placed that there for a reason and for her not be a B**ch and open her door with care. I was thinking of wearing my steel toed boots and giving her van a side-kick or slashing her tires but I said to myself I will be parking right besides her until I leave the company so better just do something about it proactively.

She might hit your right mirror as well, I would be careful about that too. Maybe get some sort of Styrofoam to cover it up.

Do you have designated parking spots? If not...make sure you park on the OTHER side of her and avoid parking next to the driver door. Besides, I couldnt imagine ever giving myself that little space for the "other" guy.

If you do have assigned parking spaces, why not go nose in and park to the right as much as possible.

Dude, that is a small spot....I would park as far away from that person as possible! Walk across the street if you have to!

This is not the only thing I have to worry about. There is also a concrete column protruding on my spot. I usually drive-in but whenever she parks like she doesn't care I have to back-in. I literally have 14" clear space between the driver side door and the steel mesh of the building on this picture. If I move closure to the mesh I will hit the concrete column.

I cannot move to another spot. It is a designated spot. She just doesn't know how to park properly. There was a time that literally her wheels are 6" inside my spot. In this picture her front wheels are on top of the line.

What I want to do is borrow my friend's rusty '91 Bronco truck and go to work early and park it on my spot for 1 week without moving it. My friend is literally using that truck as a offroad vehicle and has never been washed for almost 5 years and it is just sitting on his front house waiting for the next mud bath. So I want to see her squeeze through that small space on her business attire for 1 week.

Reminds me of the time some guy with a crappy brown trans-am hit my new car in the work parking lot. He left a smear of brown paint on the corner. It buffed out, but I didn't see that car in the lot again for months. Coward went and hid so I couldn't track him down.

Big dirty truck, Check. If still no clue, leave a note on the window if she isn't in your dept or you don't really know her. still doesn't get on point, confront directly in private. Then go to Human resources if it still isn't fixed. Top time 2 weeks (1 week for the dirty truck plan)

Edit:
Keep taking pictures in case it does go to HR.

I don't know how you do it. Some say I have anger issues when it comes to my car, But ****... WTF! I try not to hit anyone's car in the parking lot, why can't you? lol! People need to get there **** straight. I do love the idea of the muddy truck. Totally ingenious. That should make her think twice. GL with that

The truck is already parked on my spot I placed it there last night with my buddy. I needed the help of my friend to guide me to perfectly fit the bronco on the stall took maybe 15 minutes to snail my way thru it. There is literally .25 of a inch between the Bronco's fender and the concrete column and I would say 6" of gap between the side of the truck and the line between my spot and hers. I do have to fold the mirror or it will poke-in to her spot. So this coming Monday will be interesting to see what she will do for a week in getting in and out of the car stall. My friend also said to me he won't mind her hittting and scrapping the truck as it will only add to the tough look of his truck. Let the fun begin.

Using the bronco to teach her a lesson is ingenious. You're a better person than I am. I'm just dying to find out what happens next.

Dent protection

Hi, just my two cents worth.

I have a couple of folding rubber magnetic bump protector strips that I keep in the trunk of my car for such parking situations. They simply fit along the doors between the front and rear wheel arches and cushion anyone opening their doors against mine. Nobody's ever tried to "boost" them either as they're always still there when I get back! And my doors are dent free after 5 years.

I'll get a couple pics put up shortly. can't remember where I got 'em - probably off eBay I guess.
