I have the exact same issue on my driver's side. I was TOO careful and popped it off clean. So clean it slipped through my hands and fell on the center console cracking it almost in half.

Nope...I just resist the urge to look up. I did however recently figured out how to remove the entire console off. This information would of been vital at me not damaging the lens in the first place.

How well does the LED bulb work with the theatre dimming feature of the light?

Hi there! I'm currently thinking on buying a w204 but still unsure on what engine I should be looking at. I have been driving petrol engines for the past 10 years having around 230 bhp. On the other hand it's my first modern Benz. I'm now ready to experiment and looking for a 2013 or a later but sticking to w204. What can you suggest? I need the car as an alternative transport to my motorbike and don't do track days.
Help much appreciated !

Thats a good question. I just bought a few sets from aznoptics and failed to ask Mike.

So here's the think with LEDs.... they're digital in nature so unlike halogen bulbs, they don't fade or power up. They're instant full brightness and instant off. This is why for LED signals for instance, you get crisp flashing. Now, LEDs can simulate fading, but the more lumen step levels, the more expensive. And it's also near impossible to pack the components required on the small real estate on these bulbs. As such, this is one of the sacrifices you make going with LEDs, you don't get that fade effect, but you get cleaner color and brighter usable lighting. That said, we were able to make ours 2 stage LEDs so there is an ambient mode which you can see when plugged into spots that can take advantage of this like footwell ambient lights where it'll dim down to ambient when driving, and power up to torch mode when doors open.

Thanks for the explanation Michael. It makes perfect sense. I sure wish I had asked this question prior to purchasing the interior bulbs. I'm not real sure if I want to separate from the dimming effect in the interior as I do like it. Once I receive your package, I might contact you for a swap or possible return on the interior bulbs only. I will think about this a bit more. Thanks for all the help/support.

Ouch...sorry about that!

I attempted to fry off the cover on mine but I failed for fear of breaking it. So why take the risks of breaking the cover when you can easily access the bulb from the top.

The 2+ years old internal LED lighting on mine are still going strong. I followed the instruction from this video when I upgraded the dome light to LED's.

Anyone get anywhere with this? I take it you can't buy this from the dealership? My front left plastic cover for my front dome was cracked when I got my car. Anyone got a replacement front left I can have. I'll pay good money. Thanks in advance.
