Nav Update....Confused.......
I've tried to search for info on a Navigation map update, but now I am more confused than before. I have a 2009 C300 4matic with an Audio 20 head and a UMI Nav 20 factory setup. I see posts detailing a DVD update, however I don't have a DVD player, only a CD player, but I do have USB, Iphone and Aux connectors. I've seen internet sites offering map updates for Europe on USB stick, but not for the US. I have also seen mention of firmware updates for certain setups.
What I would like to know, if anyone has the info, are there Navigation map updates for the US on USB, where can they be had and are there firmware updates for my vehicle. I read somewhere that a firmware update is included in the map update and that you can do it yourself. The VIN is WDDGF81X99R08192 if that will help. A little guidance here would be greatly appreciated

Yes......that site is the one I checked first, but there is no mention of a USB version of a Nav update, only DVDs. I guess that's why I'm having so much trouble.....maps for Europe are available on USB but I can't find any for the US. My MB was not made for Europe it was destined for the US......I have US maps on it now. I found one on EBay, but it was the same maps I already have. I'm still looking for the info.....it's hard to believe that there aren't more nav units like mine out there.

Yes, I did check with my local dealer said that there are no updates for my vehicle or any 09s. I know for a fact that isn't true. My maps are 07-08, I can't believe there are no USB updates after almost 7 years. They had the attitude as if I was wasting their precious time and it was an inconvenience to bother them. I stopped asking questions there because of the consistent rudeness and exorbitant parts prices. I now use a local recycler for parts and have been very happy with them and their prices.
Initially, I would have purchased my car at my local MD dealer, but they only offered 1/2 of the lowest blue book for my trade. I found another car I liked at another dealer (not MB) who not only gave me full blue book but also an excellent extended warranty and superb customer service.
I think MB would do well to work on their customer service at that dealership....I'm assuming not all dealers are snobs. There are other dealerships in my area, but are much farther away. Additionally, I was looking to avoid paying the premium for shopping at a dealership if possible.

"Possibly, but I'm not willing to take a $250 hit if it is not.
The NAV works fine, if I need directions to a location and it's not in the map, I'll use my TomTom.............at least until I know for sure.
