Mann filter does not fit perfectly

I got a Mann cabin filter that said it was OEM and it was like 1/16" too high. I was able to get the one little metal clip I have on (the other seems to have disappeared) but the white plastic sliding clip would not slide over all four tabs no matter how hard I pushed the filter in. I made sure I put the filter in right then finally cut the white thing in half and worked one side on at a time then put everything back together before thinking maybe I should've put a piece of gaffer tape on the seam between the pieces of the sliding clip so it wouldn't vibrate apart. Hopefully it will stay intact for a year and maybe I will try the other OEM brand next time.

Interesting. Did you place the old and new filters side by side to compare them? I bought a Mann filter when I bought the car a few years ago and changed it once, the old filter was also a Mann. Seems to fit fine.

They looked the same but I didn't measure them.
