2013 Mercedes C250, smoke from exhaust "Video"
Just got this Mercedes , 29,000k Miles and I'm having this question. When the car is sitting for a while and I start it, a lot of white smoke starts to come out from the exhaust. Is this normal? Does anyone else have this problem?

I have a 2012 c250 with 35k miles and haven't seen that before on my car. <knock on wood>
2013 with 29k miles should still be under warranty. Take it in.

Maybe try some Techron in the tank and drive it WOT for a few seconds here and there. My car, when newer, would blow black-ish smoke if I floored it to pass on two lane roads after driving like a "granny" for a few weeks during break-in. It was only a brief "puff" during kick-down.

I got a 2012 c300 and that's happened to me 2-3 times and i was very concerned. Then i realized every time it happened was when i drove in the rain and left it in the driveway under the rain overnight. I think it's just water that gets into pipes ???....hasn't happened in a long time tho

i think its burning oil......2000 golf did that before engine died...1 qt of oil had to be filled every 1000 miles
but turbo engine always burns oil little bit...hmm that(video) might be burning little too much..
still...i would take it to the stealer before warranty expires...

Do you get this every time you start the car? I only get this when I don't start my car for weeks. It you get this smoke every time you start your car that is not normal.

You are burning oil however as it's not blue it's kind of a good thing.. let us know what the dealer found.
Condensation in the pipes does not stay around that long or make a white cloud.

White Smoke is water, blue smoke is oil and black smoke is fuel.
If it has been sitting around and blows white smoke when it starts it's just the condensation built up in the exhaust that is quickly burning off, do not worry about it. If white smoke is coming out the exhaust while you are driving then it can be a head gasket or something like that.
Do not worry about the white smoke on the start up.

My gf took the car in and they said it was a bad sensor, they said they fixed everything and it shouldn't smoke anymore. When I got home from work and started the car, the biggest white smoke cloud filled the garage -.- I took it back today and I'll update y'all after they tell me what's going on.

I must be lucky I get the normal about of white smoke. I did have a miata that was smoking real bad thought it was coolant issues since that's what it usually means but compression was perfect coolant was fine. Ended up being fouled out spark plugs because my ecu was messed up and dumping to much fuel. But until I swapped spark plugs every time I started it big puffs of white smoke and lumpy idle until warmed up and it would be fine. So just throwing it out there maybe some might wanna check the plugs.

smoke during start up
Have the same issue. I just bought 2013 c class 250 with 33,000 miles and when I start up in the morning theres a poof of white smoke. It is kinda of cold and it had been misty and alittle rain lately. Im from a Texas.. is this something I should be worried about?

Mine did that also
Been to the shop twice and they have replaced some seals in the turbo and by the turbo. The Shanghai dealer claims this is a very common thing for the class with turbo.
all fixed under warranty and took half day to fix

My car was smoking every once in a while and I took it to the mechanic and they told me it was a banjo bolt in the turbo. I haven't taken it to be replaced yet. They say it's a common problem with these cars since my car read low oil on the HUD.

I have a 2013 C250 and it too was blowing white smoke from a cold start-up. Took it to the dealer today. They Modified the Banjo Bolt with check valve. A technical service bulletin was issued August 2, 2013. Number:LI09.40-P-055396

Blue smoke from exhaust after cold start
It happened several times on my 2015 C250, 54k miles, the vehicle is out of warranty. I understand there is an TSB on this issue. Just curious how serious is this problem. Also am I expecting an expensive repair job? Any feedback/comments would be greatly appreciated.

The 2015 should have the newer 2.0l engine. I would think it turbo related, at least if it's blue smoke.
