Difficulties filling in gas at the Pump

I went to dealership and SA took me to a gas station. Falkaddoumi is correct. Exactly how SA demonstrated to me. Per SA, Gas Stations are replacing or had replaced their gas pump nozzles to comply with EPA regulations.
As you can see in the pic, the nozzle has a ring. Insert the nozzle straight all the way in and push it down until the ring catch or locks into place against the fuel pipe lip. Make sure the nozzle stays in place before squeezing the lever. Otherwise, try again!

Thanks for the info. I don't have this issue on other cars so it's not an EPA compliance issue, it's a Mercedes design issue.

Happens in almost every car I have owned lately. Modern pumps probably let the fuel out too fast. Fuel hits the bend in filler pipe, fuel backs up and it shuts off. let off the lever a bit and no problem.
No big deal.
