2011 C300 Front Bumper Scratched

My wife hit the parking curb a few times and now I want to fix the damage. How do I fix it? Do I go to the Mercedes Benz Service place? They will probably want me to purchase a new front bumper. Is going to a paint shop a better option? How much will it cost to fix the scratches? Is there some sort of protection tape that you can apply to the lower bumper to protect it? Thanks for the answers!

Another round of ICE
Plan for $400 or so for a front fascia refinish at a local high end bodyshop. Find a place which specializes in MB/BMW/Audi, etc. You can ask your dealer what bodyshop they use as one data point.

That is around $300 to $400. The small portion in the centre that is sticking down will just need to be heated up and bent a little bit. No matter what you do if the wife will drive it again 100% chance she will scrape it again. Better teach her how to back-in on a parking spot. I ban my wife from using the car if she won't promise me she will back-in while parking the car and tells her it will be easier for her because there is a back-up camera to help her out.

There will be no tape protection that will protect the bottom bumper of the W204 as it sits really low. If I where you I will just get a rubbing compound and black duplicolor paint, buff it as much as possible then apply the paint, let it dry, buff again then re-apply paint. That will save you at least $300 there and when it happens again you will know what to do.

Get some black vinyl wrap and cover the lower portion.

Is your wife going to keep driving the vehicle? Because if she is.. that's a good indication to just leave it.

My 2011 W204 Sport front bumper also has scratches and tears on it from when I purchased the car. Since it was a certified pre-owned.

But now that you have brought up this thread, does anyone know the part number for a 2011 Sport front bumper? I want to replace the whole thing, as I have OCD about my car.

That will be more expensive as you will need to get the LEDs as well.

thoughts / suggestions

I'm actually looking to replace the front bumper of my 2011 w204, it has a couple scratches i can no longer live with and to top it off the other day i realized my lower mesh has a hole in it

My first thought was to take it to a paint shop and have it redone but figured it might be an opportunity for a new mod since Ive been feeling the bug lately

I had a scratch on the lower right part of my bumper repaired the other day. An independent shop masked off the upper part and just sprayed the lower part for me. It cost $150 and you could not tell it was repaired.

I do have to say their are customers of mine and I have had my wife's car repaired by them but they did a good job.

My wife's 12 C250 had worse damage and I had it repaired at a local shop for $250. Fixed the scratches and repainted the bumper. Looks perfect.

Had the same place fix my daughters 328i. She hit a pole pulling into a parking space and bent and put a hole in the bumper. They fixed it and repainted entire bumper for $400. Again looks perfect.
