Crackpot Theory?
My children would call it another of Dads' "crackpot theories" but here goes.
In the wilds of Vermont, I look longingly at the 2008 C300 Canadian version climate control. It is more versatile than the US version and has more useful settings.
Here comes the question..... can the US version be swapped out for the Canadian one with no other mods?
Anyone brave enough to ask an MB mechanic? Eh?

Out Of Control!!
Your children were being polite--crack pot you say---well how little they know--the answer is yes, but here is where your children got it correct!!
All climate controls get variant coded to fully utilize all as built functions, however if you code the CC for a country car that does not have the feature--how would you propose making the function work---so the good news is that you can satisfy your ego and say-----wow I have a super Canadian bacon climate controller that won't fully function---my guess is that if you showed this response to your kids they may utter something more appropriate---gosh good luck with your quest--oh yes have you looked at a Bulgarian CC
