Air from left dash vent when in floor mode

After fruitless searching via Google and this wonderful forum, I have an oddity with my climate control system that *may* actually be normal. Not having much experience with these machines, I'll ask those who do.

I have automatic climate control. When I manually select the floor vent via the air distribution button, I still get full-force air flow from the left-side dash vent. I have to close the vent to avoid this. Is this normal? Seems weird but it bugs me. I have even looked over repair manuals and the owners manual. It isn't mentioned anywhere.

Please help an OCD freak see the light. Thank you.

You have issues with your AC flaps---the smartest way to get an understanding is spend the bucks for a 24hr subscription to Startek WIS put your VIN and search the AC section for flap function diagrams---If you haven't got the FFIWTI---see a good MB shop!!
