Blind Spot Assist Retrofit
Has anyone retrofitted an aftermarket blind spot monitoring system in their w204? Is this feasible. I was going to get an aftermarket backup camera but I would rather do blind spot assist if it's possible.

I have done the retrofit about a year ago. I used all factory OEM parts. Please contact Steve Krabbenborg at benznl@gmail.com
He is located in The Netherlands and can get many parts out to you with a very short time. I have retrofitted BSA, folding rear view mirrors, Euro Convex outside rear view mirror glass, Intelligent Lighting System, and Lane Tracking Assist. All parts that came from him. His website is BenzNL.com
The BSA retrofit took me a few long days to complete. The hardest part was finding someone to add the codes into the Vedoc so that I could get the items programmed by the dealership.

I would also like to do the BSA if available. But, I would assume you would need the software and sensors to make this work; besides the proper side mirrors. BTW, that link (benznl.com) doesn't work for me either.

I agree, it seems like a lot of work. If you got the proper parts I would assume the MB dealer could install it for you since they are "professionals". I was hoping someone had a DIY for this install.

i assume blind spot assist won't be cheap...
OEM euro convex mirrors is cheaper alternative...

When I did this, I also retrofitted folding rear view mirrors, so the cost may vary. Please contact Steve Krabbenborg at MBenzNl@gmail.com

I did the Intelligent Lighting System (ILS) retrofit (well still in the process...still need to install new windshield for the multifunction camera to complete retrofit).
The 2 headlamp units, lighting control unit, front and rear level sensors, wire harnesses, multifunction camera, and about 12 hrs of work running the wire harnesses and reworking the headlamp connectors to the new pin layout. In addition, if you want headlamp washers, you are looking at front bumper cover, headlamp washers, washer lines, new washer bottle and headlamp washer pump, and wire harness.
