Engine Vibration @ 1500RPM (in park)

Gents,

Having an engine issue that's troubling me.

I can feel gritty vibrations in the steering wheel and center console when holding the engine between 1500 - 1800 RPM, in park. The engine is fairly smooth otherwise. Doesn't seem to occur when I'm driving, though its difficult to isolate vibration from road conditions.

Also, my engine serial number falls in the cam adjuster issues group, not the balance shaft issue group. I've visually inspected left, right, and rear engine mounts and all look great. Don't see anything coming into contact with the engine that shouldn't be.

Any ideas?

Any way to know if its the mounts for sure? I visually inspected and they look to be in good shape.

If you put the car from park to drive then pause for a second then reverse then pause for a second then repeat again without the car even moving do you feel that the car shakes during the transition? If if shakes and jerks a lot then you might have your engine mounts busted or even the transmission mount. What is the mileage of the car?

The only thing I feel when shifting between park & drive is the drivetrain.....no engine vibration or anything.

Could this be related to the drive belt or pulleys? I've got a squealing belt on cold mornings and a constant chirp that I've been trying to diagnose for years. Starting to think the alt pulley is bad.

Mileage is about 85k.
