I was involved in a hit in run this past Monday. The driver hit 4 cars before mine and drove off swerving. I filed a police report and also an insurance claim. The insurance said it would be considered a non insured driver coverage with a $200 deductable. One of the witnesses got two possible license plate numbers but the car had 30 day tags on it. The driver knocked off my passenger side mirror and also lightly scratched the rim and passenger front panel. The panel now also has a small dent in it. Has anyone had experience with this sort of case before? What do you guys think the cost of damage will be around? And also am I stuck with a stracthed rim or will insurance cover buying a new rim?
I've attatched pictures below! Thank you for all the help in advance!
Forgot to mention my rims are plasti dipped for now
I feel sorry for you bro. The small dent should be easily fix-able by a shop, the rims could be easily buffed out too i believe, minus the plastidip coating. Side mirror is definitely replaceable. Just get them to fix it asap, wouldn't be safe to drive without a side mirror. $200 is not too bad, just think of it as throwing away all the bad lucks in the future
Ugh that sucks!! Sorry to hear, but good thing it was just the car and not you that was hurt. But still.... This is the reason why insurance is so expensive, because people like that idiot probably didn't have any and in turn it drives our's up...

Sorry to see that happen. You may want to get the small dent fixed with the paintless dent people. They can do wonders with their small tools and it is really cheap.
Insurance policies may be different, but here in Quebec, Canada I had the same thing happen with what appeared to be a cyclist whose handle bar scraped and dented my passenger door. I called the police to file a report, and claimed the damage with my insurance. I had no deductible to pay and was allowed to bring the vehicle to the garage of my choice, which happened to be a certified MB body shop.
