2010 c300 battery
I think my battery just died. I have a c300 2010 4matic. I have two questions:
1) Does 5 years sound about right for the original battery to die?
2) Can I replace the battery with something from Canadian Tire (I am in Toronto) such as http://www.canadiantire.ca/content/c...l#.VOfUgC59aao.
3) Do you know how much the dealer is going to charge approx. to replace the battery ? I called today but parts department was already closed.
I would prefer to go to the dealer but they are not opened on the weekend and it seems like all the Toronto dealers have a long wait for servicing right now.
I would appreciate any input or suggestions. Thanks in advance for the replies.

Anyway, I went straight to the dealer and it cost me $273 tax in. I don't know if Canadian Tire would have the correct battery, the OEM battery has a ventilation hose on the side. If you're OK spending the $209 for the battery you linked, IMO get an OEM one.
- Remove the filter box
- Disconnect the battery negative lead
- Remove cover from the positive
- Disconnect the battery positive lead
- Remove the screw securing the battery
- Remove the battery support and bracket
- Pull out the battery ventilation from the battery (depending on battery arrangement in your vehicle model, the ventilation hose is located either on the left or right side of the battery)
- Take out the battery
To replace it, go in the opposite order.
It's a very easy battery to change, especially if you remember to push the hood up completely. There is a video clip on You Tube showing how to do it (but he doesn't raise the hood completely)..
I strongly recommend using an exact fit battery versus "we can make it fit" version. The space in the box it pretty tight. The battery has to have a ledge at the bottom for the hold-down to grip. The battery is vented outside the box in a specific area and there is not a lot of slack in the cables to jury rig a battery with the posts in the wrong place.
It was a relatively easy change although I found that I needed a relatively long socket set with good torque to get to and loosen the two screws holding the side plate.
