I'm 24 and not married, so this is my only car. I came from a lifted Ford Ranger. so I've put 8,000 miles on in the 6 months I've owned it. This car is too much fun
The wife's daily driver. She replaced over 18 years and 2 minivans with this car. She has fallen in love with it. Hell; she now takes me around on local trips/errands etc instead of me always driving her around in my truck. She puts about 300+ miles per week on it. We have a history of keeping vehicles for close to 10 years or so. Being this was a used 2010 (with only 27k miles on it) guess it will be a 15 year old car when she gets ready for a replacement. I might even keep it for a Sunday driver or whatever.
I just picked up a 2014 C300 4Matic on Saturday. It's my daily driver, and I drive about 25,000 miles per year. The car is only 9 months old, so I got it CPO and added 2 more years of unlimited miles warranty. As such, I have 6 years and 3 months worth of unlimited miles warranty ahead of me, so I'm not concerned with the miles I'll be driving.
So far, I love it. It's quite a leap over the 2011 GTI that I traded in on it.
Its a C class, not some exotic or something. DD rain, snow, or shine.

I used to worry about racking up so many miles on my C300 as I love my car and I want to keep it for a long time. So I considered getting a beater to alternate with in between my work commute. But decided that would be a dumb move. Plus if I'm on the road 5 days a week, I'd rather be in a safe car than an old beater.
Really liking my c300 as daily driver. With winter tires, noting really stops frontal ing it anywhere , anytime. Love it for bombing down the highway. It's a perfect compliment to my 911 which is fun, but sometimes I am looking for no frills, just smooth and quiet, go though anything in the worst weather ( which we had in Bodton).
My 2008 is not my daily driver (49k miles) neither is my 2005 G35 Coupe with 29k miles. I have 2 daily drivers. My 1994 Toyota pickup with 95k miles and a Brand new GMC Terrain.

Good to see you are JDM at heart. Who else would push the wheel fitment limits on a Merc and tweak the fenders to so
somehow I don't think anyone in here is NOT using their C class as a daily driver...just my two cents...
My 2013 C sits a majority of the time, as I have a one car garage, and one spot outside behind it, so most of the time I really don't bother moving the 2001 C so I can grab the newer one, especially for a 15 minute drive to work.
We also have a Volvo S60 and a C250. But my daily driver for the last SIX WEEKS has been a loaner from the MB dealer. Supposedly a new engine arrives today from Germany for my 2013 C250. We shall see.
Bad wx here lately so the Volvo takes care of us during the snow and sleet.
New engine was installed and runs great (of course). I was told by the service adviser that the new engine cost $20,000 plus labor. Replaced Volvo w/new Acura TLX 2.4 Tech.
As much as I love my Mercs, there's something great about basic cars. I wouldn't mind one of these trucks.
It's my second one, I sold my other one to a neighbor after my wife wrecked it. It was a 91 with 350k miles. Neighbor straightened the minor frame damage and still driving it today. They really are superior trucks. Did you ever see "you can't kill a toyota pickup" on top gear? It's great.

I don't think I'd abuse a truck that much, but good to know they can handle it. Going back to the simple cars, occasionally when I need a rental, I'll take the most basic car I can get. Just like with the truck, the basic cars can be somewhat entertaining (as long as you don't have to rely on it for everyday transportation).
Sad thing what happened to Clarkson. I think Top Gear as we know it is over.
