Water Damage

I had a sunroof drain clog causing lots of water to be collected under front and rear passenger carpets. It basically just splashing around there. I need to remove passenger side seat and lift up the carpets. I have side pillars in the way, i think the name is B-Pillar. Any ideas how to remove them? Also, how can i lift up rear seats or if there is a way to remove the passenger side seat and to get a lift on the carpet without involving rear seats?

Thank you for your help.

Not much help from the 80 hits on this forum . They are mostly interested in girly cosmetic changes.

I cannot help with the seat removal except that you should take a look for hold down bolts on the seat rack. Also be very careful disconnecting the airbag etc electrical connections . Make sure the battery is disconnected.

As an alternative method which I have employed on previous cars is to sponge out as much excess from the carpet & insulation then lift it in all directions as much as possible by placing convenient objects between it & the floor . Then put a small electric heater fan which has a safety thermostat switch under the carpet in different positions for a few days, leaving the door open & preferably the car in the sun during the day.

Good luck.
