Wheel Size & Lowering affecting ride

Hey everyone,

Got a Black 2010 C300 Sport 4MATIC about 8 months ago and I've since wanted to do some things to it but didn't want to sacrifice ride/comfort too much.

I bought white side markers and got 6000K HID for the lows and fogs along with 8000K Wedge LED for the eyelids, so far.

I'm looking to do a tint (gets hot in NC with black interior/exterior), so if anyone has different tint % on black C300s I'd be very thankful (and does it affect vision very much, I have good eyesight, just checking)

On top of tint I'd like to get some rims, the stock 2010 rims just aren't doing it for me. I want to stay a tad conservative here, I was thinking either black inlay or gunmetal. If anyone has suggestions please feel free to post! I wasn't sure about the size here because I don't want to get too big and sacrifice the ride.

On top of that I'm not sold on lowering yet until I ride in a car for the same reason. All I see are H&R SS so I guess I'd get those if I could be convinced it wouldn't affect it too much.

I know posts like these have probably been posted a million times, so thanks in advance for patience and input! Posting a picture of the car when I got it for reference (no worries, I have since removed the front plate)

Hello and welcome

there are a lot of post on this topic pls look at the below links for more information.

nice car by the way.

for my car i have a set of 18" 8.5 all around with staggered tires, 245 front 265 rear.
ride and comfort stayed the same. with out changing the suspension you could go up to 19" with out rubbing or any noticeable ride change.

Tint's - i have 20% all around it helps in the summer, at night time is not bad either, you just have to check with you state code about what the legal tint percent is. For NY its 35%, but you rarely get stops unless the cops is just board.

Hey man,

Thanks a lot for the info! This is the kind of stuff I was hoping to find.

I like the setup of your car, I like the staggered look for sure. Tint is nice, 20% is dark but if it doesn't affect vision and is legal I'm fine with that.

I thought 19s would be too much, I'll have to dive into that thread and see what I like. Nice setup man and thanks for the help.

Trying to resist the temptation of lowering too :P

You will notice a stiffer ride with the SS. The question is how stiff is too stiff per your taste. Those those that haven't had lowered vehicles in the past are generally the ones that complain.

For those of us that have never owned a vehicle on stock suspension, it's the nicest ride I have ever had.

this is very personal and depends on your taste.. I have 18' amgs on mine using BC Racing suspension, dialed to racing hard.... I think mine is too soft still.. My friend thinks its WAY too harsh... Suggest to meet some friends or forum members and try their cars.

My 2 cents on wheels. I have a 2010 c200 sport 4MAtic as well and went with factory MB C63 wheels. They are slightly wider, 5-spoke gunmetal with machines lip. They give it just a slightly more muscular stance and the look right on the car. I'm not 25yrs old so I wanted something a little more understated.

Thanks everyone for the input! I'll have to try to find people in the triangle area of NC to get a feel for their rides.

^^ do you have a picture? Sounds like something I'd be interested in.
