Streaking Badly, I did use search function :)

Hi, I'm having a really really bad wiper streaking issue. I searched around for solutions and found many interesting things on the W212 forum though. I tried claybar-ing the windshield, using rain-x wipe, change into a brand new OEM dealer wiper.

The washer fluid I use is the one from the dealership. The problem usually worsen after a 10-20+ wipes in a rainy day (after blades becomes really wet??? )

It did get slightly better after I changed the wiper, but the problem came back again within 1 month of usage. I asked the dealer and they told me it could be oil or tree sap and they buff it real hard, still pretty useless

I'm thinking to just use goo gone or vinegar or some alcohol on the windshield. What should I use to clean the rubbers on the blade? That's one thing I have no idea. I attached a few videos to show how bad it is. I'm at a huge disadvantage for driving at night. The wiper streaks just made it worse. This is a huge safety issue for me

Thank you guys I tried to use search before this but haven't really find any good solution that works for me

Claybar and wax the windshield. Buy quality wipers if you are not using them already.

I tried claybar and wax it. I used mcguire's claybar + mcguire's quick detailer with almost no result honestly. I was pressing against it pretty hard. I did one time wax the whole car 3/4 weeks ago with no result as well.

Oh yeah, I just changed my wiper into OEM from Benz dealer 2 months ago. It got better for the first few weeks, then it's the worsen again

Do you guys think the windshield itself is moldy? I remember when I was cleaning off the chromes on my previous car with gasoline. Will it be okay if I use gasoline on my windshield??? The only thing that kinda makes sense is goo gone, that's the only thing I haven't try honestly.

Do you use car washes regularly? They leave a film from the drying agent/wax that causes streaking. Really hard to remove from windshield.

xXHotelCrazyXx I did claybar first (McGuires), then wax on the next day (Ice Turtle Wax). No effect at all

startman1954 No, I don't use car washes. I usually wash it by hands every 2 weeks.

The OE dealer wipers steak a lot. I used to love Bosch wipers, but nowadays most other brands are just as good if not better. I switched to michelins, ran some isopropyl alcohol on my windshield, and now it stays clear as it should.

Hi,
I found McGuires scratch x by experimenting over the years is the best hands down window glass cleaner/ploish I know it sounds strange but please trust me and give it a go.

It coats the glass with something which eliminates the film of water causing the streaks also a lot of the water beads up and blows off with the wind when driving.

I also use it on the inside to stop fogging streaks and smears works exactly as I have described it.
Dave.

Cfmistry, thanks for the advice! Although a friend of mine switched to a non oem or bosch brand like micheline or rain-x brand and it did not properly fit his w212 (not w204). I will try to use isopropyl alcohol first then maybe something harsher if it still doesn't work. Thanks a lot!

NZ-Merc, wow, never have thought of it honestly. A scratch removal chemical can be used to windshield and put a water beading coat on it too? I will definitely try it after using the isopropyl alcohol!

Its interesting that it streaks a lot more on the back stroke. Wondering if its possible that the wiper arm is slightly bent causing it not to have the correct angle in one direction?

I use Griot's glass polish than I put a coat of Jet 109 from Chemical Guys it takes off the film that builds on the windshield.

TheRulesLawyer interesting idea, but how do I know if it's been bent?

nelson_g Cool, I like the jetseal, but since I got an appointment with MBSeattle this Friday, I'll let them take a look at it again throughly this time. I'm hoping that they wouldn't charge me anything or least a very very reasonable amount as I got this car as a CPO and hoping no issues will happen to the car that I need to pay it out of my pocket

So far I got free (Spot) re-paint on the front and rear bumper since the clear coat is not throughly applied on both bumpers. (Free of Charge )

Wiper blades were changed just 1 month after the purchase of a CPO car ($70ish)

Service B (18k-20k Miles) that's coming in 1 or 2 months

Thank you guys for being patient and staying here to help me. Much appreciate it!
