2009 Mercedes c300

I am buying a 2009 c300 Saturday. I have been looking at these for a while and I noticed that some of the Grills are different. Some have the emblem in the middle, and some have just a plain grill.

My question is can I switch out a plain grill with a grill with the emblem in the middle? Will it fit? I found a few on ebay that are way cheaper than the one at the Mercedes dealer.

The ones with the big emblem on the grill are the sports version. They have lower stance and have different bumpers and side skirts that makes it look like it has a body kit. They have the AMG aesthetic. Because of the lower stance they are supposed to have sportier handling with slightly stiffer and rougher ride.

The ones with just regular grills are the luxury version. They sit higher and have different bumpers and side skirts. Since they sit higher, they're supposed to be a more plush/softer ride but less sportier handling.

So does that mean a sports grill will not fit on my luxury car? I don't like the grill, and I am getting this car for a great price. I don't want the grill to be the only reason I don't purchase this.

It will fit. You can find lots of used one on ebay or just get a different design aftermarket one. You may also find used OEM ones in the classified section here.

But it's not just the grill that is different as I mentioned in my previous post. You still wont have the lowered stance and AMG look. If you don't care for that then yes, just swap the grill.

YAY! that's all I needed to know. I don't mind not having the sports edition, but I love the grill. I am going to ebay now

2012 C300 sport
Luxury also has a stand up hood ornament. Must people change that out also when switching to a sport style grill, otherwise you will have two logos very close to each other. This switch is very easy and flat logos are readily available for the hood.
