C220 CDI
Centre caps corroding on 2007 c220
Hi guys, I have a c220 cdi 2007 new shape and the centre caps on the rims seem to be fading and have holes in the thin plastic layer. There are also white marks on it. Its quite depressing to look at I was wondering if anyone is experiencing the same issue and how to solve it. A photo of my MB is in my profile photo. Thank you in advance

New caps are available from ebay and many other sources. They are not expensive.

2007 W204 220CDI Classic Sedan
One of mine failed during warranty & was replaced.My star on the bonnet also peeled after a couple of years.

Once they are in that state ,new ones are the answer. Keeping up the polish may protect them.

I thought about wet sanding and clearing them. A new set will be nice for a little but it's going to happen again .

Yup. Road salt this winter did my center caps in as well. I picked up a fresh set for my summer ANG c63 wheels and they look great.

No real DIY. Just remove the wheel and pop em out from the back with your fingers. I am sure someone will suggest prying them off carefully without removing the wheel, maybe with a small plastic trim tool so you don't scratch rim. But not my recommended approach. Taking the wheels off is a good time the clean the backside of the wheels and wax.
