C300 X-Pipe: Using Resonated vs. Unresonated Maganflow
I've done an extensive amount of research on this topic. I've watched maybe 30 videos of C300/C350s with x-pipes, and I'm a fan. I threw one in on my old G35 and it sounded GREAT, but the added noise was a but out of place on that type of sedan, IMO.
Here's what I haven't seen:
-Everyone seems to use the unresonated x-pipe; why not the resonated x-pipe?
-I love the fact that my car is DEAD silent when cruising. I assume the unresonated version has drone somewhere in the rev band, or am I mistaken?
-My thought was that the resonated x would eliminate any possibility of drone while still allowing more noise under throttle.
Here's the typical x-pipe:
Here's the resonated version:
Has anyone used this? If so, any sound clips?
I'd like to add a little more volume, but the Remus mufflers are about $1,000, and that's too much for something that's ultimately not going to make the car any quicker. I also don't want to cheapen the feel of the C300 by making it sound like a 350Z. It's sporty looking, but the lack of speed is a silly combo with a loud exhaust.
That was until I did a muffler delete. Now it's loud all the time.
Now the real question: In terms of sound, is positioning the X closer or farther from the cats preferable? I want to minimize the rasp.

..........a couple months later, she's sporting a custom widebody, slammed on coils or bagged on forged wheels lol.....
Modifiers all have vehicular OCD..... an unfinished build or incomplete vision can't be left alone...
