MANN FILTER C 3698/3-2 ?????????
My neighbor got this by mistake and gave it to me. Looking it up, it seems like a filter for most Mercedes, including our C300 (2009). Its this correct that it is for the cabin? or engine? there are 2 of them about 5" x 14" with the orange rubber on edge. Parts are marked C 3698/3 so I guess the /2 is for quantity.

Yes, that engine air filter fits a 2009 C300, the cabin air filter is different. I have a 2009 C300 as well and used the same filter.

It's the correct filter for the engine. And yes, the 2 means there are two filters. Pretty simple DIY with only a few clips and screws to undo.
