Starter Still spins for about 4-5 more seconds after starting
I have a 2013 c300 and I did a search but wasn't able to find the exact problem I am having. When I use the key to start the car, the starter sounds like it keeps spinning for 4-5 seconds longer than it should, well after the car has started. It does not seem to do it when the car is starting itself after a stop.
If anyone can offer some advise or point me to a thread about this, it would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Chris

Afaik, the start-stop restart does not use the starter, rather the alternator, when warm.
The starter spinning might be a mechanical issue - bendix not disengaging on time, or an electronic gremlin...

Could be a computer glitch or as VVF said a mechanical problem with the solenoid or the starter. Should be under warranty. Get it fixed as it might leave you stranded. That is if the gods be pleased to have it happen at the dealer.
