2012 vs. 2014 C250
What are the differences? I've read that the JB tuner is less effective or shows a less noticeable improvement on the 2013-2014 C250. Supposedly they have less of a lag problem? Running more boost? Heard the 2014s are more likely to throw a code with the JB tuner than the 2012s. Whats the deal?
Also a side note. I see attention assist enable/disable in my C250 and it is enabled, but never see a coffee cup. Is it in all new Mercedes or just an option?

I have a pretty much base (just P1) 2014 C250. Attention Assist is there, but it only comes on after several uninterrupted hours on the highway. I honestly find it annoying as I'm usually thoroughly caffeinated and not worrying about that.

I have never seen it pop up just wondering if it is standard or an option. Car has premium package Panoramic roof and HID active lighting system. Just never have seen the coffee cup.

The coffee cup should be displayed if you have Attention Assist enabled. Mine's on the screen all the time. I'm not sure when it's supposed to alert. I've only noticed it go off after long fairly straight stretches of freeway driving, it's never gone off when I'm in the city, or on a fun windy road.

If you have a 2014 C250 you won't have the coffee cup even if you have attention assist turned on. Mine has attention assist enabled but I've never once seen the coffee cup, my SA told me they did away with the icon to make room on the display for other more important items.

You're correct, the indicator only comes on when the attention assist activates based on your "driving habits", sometimes I think its just a timer that starts when you keep a steady speed above a certain set limit. I haven't had my W204 for long enough to even take a drive that long to see it come on.

I found the coffee cup icon if I disable Attention Assist and then look at the "Assists Graphics" page. It show the coffee cup inside a circle and line across it indicating it's disabled.
Anybody have any opinions or input on the 1st part of my original post? Are the 2014 C250s less laggy/more responsive than the 2012s?

Might this have to do with the way the car's adaptive transmission has learned your driving style as opposed the 2012 that you drove? I find that if I'm driving an unfamiliar Mercedes-Benz, if it's not owned by someone I know, I'll do a transmission reset on the car so that it learns my driving style (dependent on how long I have the car).
