New '13 C300 Owner - iPhone Question
Hello, new owner here & I've been looking everywhere online and can't seem to find an answer....
I've been trying to plug my iPhone 6 into the USB in the arm rest but it keeps saying "device is unreadable" so i cannot play music. My phone IS being charged though so it is confusing me. Is there any type of update I need or something like that?

I've had the same issue on my 2012. When using the standard charging cable it gives the same message. I also have the iPhone 30-pin connector and when using the 30-pin to lightning adapter just charges the phone. I've given up and just use bluetooth connection for my phone....just easier than trying a million different thing for no different result.

I believe in the pre-2015 models (as on my 2014) you cannot use the iPhone on the USB port. You need to get the proper multimedia cable to connect to the iPhone. My dealer gave me the proper "lightning" cable when I bought the car a month ago. The USB port is for media sticks and other USB media that you can use to play MP3s.

i use an official iPhone cable and mine charges but i also get the message saying unavailable for music just turn your bluetooth on once plugged in go to bluetooth instead of aux.
